ExpressVPN Dedicated IP: Is the Pro Plan Worth It?

See when ExpressVPN Dedicated IP helps with approved access and stable logins, how Pro compares with paid add-ons, and what to check before buying.

Offer timing: The partner prices below are announced for November 25–December 2, 2026, on the 24-month subscription with 4 extra months. As of November 3, this offer is not active. These are future promotional prices, not today’s checkout prices.

You open the same work dashboard every morning. The coffee changes, the hotel changes, and apparently your internet address changes too. Then someone asks you to send another IP address for the approved-access list. Again.

That is where an ExpressVPN dedicated IP becomes useful. Pro includes one, while Basic and Advanced offer it as a paid add-on. Whether Pro is worth buying depends on the problem you need to solve and the complete price of the alternatives.

If your main goal is ordinary browsing, start with our ExpressVPN Basic plan guide. If you need a repeatable public address for an approved service, keep reading.

What Does a Dedicated IP Actually Give You?

A normal shared VPN connection puts multiple customers behind the same public IP. A dedicated IP gives your account an address reserved for your use, in a chosen location. You reconnect to that address when you need it.

The practical benefit is consistency. A website or administrator can recognize the same source address instead of dealing with a changing shared exit address. ExpressVPN describes the distinction on its dedicated IP feature page.

Think of it as having a regular return address for selected online tasks. It does not change the name on your account, create permission to enter a service, or make every website trust you automatically.

Three Situations Where It Can Make Sense

1. An administrator needs an address to allowlist

Some dashboards and business tools accept connections only from approved IP addresses. A changing address creates extra administration; a stable one gives the person managing access something predictable to approve.

ExpressVPN’s allowlisting explanation describes giving your dedicated address to the network administrator. Ask that administrator whether this arrangement fits their requirements before buying.

A consumer VPN does not create a route into your employer’s private network by itself. You may still need its corporate VPN, device approval, account, or other access controls. An approved public IP is one condition in that process.

2. You want more consistent logins

Returning through one address may reduce challenges associated with changing locations or the activity of other users sharing an address. ExpressVPN says dedicated IPs can help with repeated verification prompts in its dedicated-versus-shared IP guidance.

That is a possible improvement, not a CAPTCHA removal guarantee. A website can still check your account, cookies, device, behavior, and its own risk rules. Keep your normal two-factor authentication ready.

3. You maintain a service with IP-based access controls

If you manage an approved admin interface, a dedicated exit address can simplify your own access rules. Document the address, test it, and keep a legitimate recovery route before tightening restrictions.

The useful question is specific: “Which system needs my address to stay the same?” If the answer is “none,” the feature may sit unused while you pay for it.

The Privacy Tradeoff: Consistency Is Recognizable

A stable identifier is useful precisely because it repeats. A service seeing the same dedicated IP can associate visits with that address more easily than it can distinguish people sharing one exit IP.

ExpressVPN describes using a blind-token system to separate the dedicated address from account details. Its security comparison also explains the shared-IP privacy advantage. These concern different relationships: what the provider can associate with an account, and what a website can recognize across visits.

Keep that distinction in mind when choosing which connection to use. Signing into a named account still identifies you to that service, whichever IP you select.

What Pro Includes, and What You Should Compare

Pro includes Dedicated IP; Basic and Advanced require a separate purchase. The plans allow 10, 12, and 14 simultaneous VPN connections respectively. The current subscription overview confirms these differences.

Basic already includes tracker blocking. That feature alone is no reason to upgrade; judge the additional tools you would actually use.

Pro may still suit a household that values its additional connections and included tools. Our ExpressVPN family guide looks at that decision. For this article, the central question is whether you need the included dedicated address.

Announced Partner Prices: November 25–December 2

These supplied campaign figures cover 24 months plus 4 extra months: 28 months total. USD and EUR are separately quoted offers. The percentages below are the partner’s advertised discounts.

USD announced rates

PlanMonthly equivalentAnnounced discountEstimated 28-month total before tax
Basic$2.4983%$69.72
Advanced$3.4979%$97.72
Pro$5.9973%$167.72

EUR announced rates

PlanMonthly equivalentAnnounced discountEstimated 28-month total before tax
Basic€2.1983%€61.32
Advanced€2.9980%€83.72
Pro€5.1974%€145.32

The totals in the final column of each table are arithmetic estimates before tax, calculated by multiplying the displayed monthly average by 28. They are not verified checkout bills. Confirm the actual upfront amount, eligibility, currency, taxes, and renewal terms when the announced offer becomes available.

On these figures, Pro is $98 or €84 more than Basic over 28 months, and $70 or €61.60 more than Advanced. Those differences give you a comparison budget.

The Dedicated IP add-on price has not been supplied for this campaign, so it would be misleading to call Pro automatically cheaper. Compare the actual Basic-plus-add-on or Advanced-plus-add-on total against Pro for the same subscription period. Include only the extra tools you expect to use when judging the difference.

Check the Location and Device Before Paying

The Dedicated IP FAQ lists Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, and browser extensions. Check compatibility separately for a TV or router.

Available locations include Frankfurt, Tokyo, UK Docklands, and several U.S. cities. The dedicated list is narrower than the shared-server network, and your selected location stays fixed for the add-on’s duration.

There is one dedicated IP per account, even with multiple subscriptions. Fourteen simultaneous connections do not give you fourteen dedicated addresses.

One purchase detail matters: the official allowlisting guide says Dedicated IP is available with subscriptions purchased through ExpressVPN’s website, not Apple App Store or Google Play in-app subscriptions.

A Sensible Setup on Mac

ExpressVPN’s current Mac instructions give this workflow:

  1. Install the official app and sign into an eligible subscription.
  2. Open Add-ons → Dedicated IP under Privacy and Security.
  3. Choose Set Up Dedicated IP, then select the location carefully.
  4. Create the dedicated-IP access code and save it securely.
  5. Finish setup, connect, and verify the public address before submitting it for approval.

The access code is important for using the address on other devices. It is not a code to send to your administrator; they need the public IP, not your credentials.

If you lose it, ExpressVPN’s recovery guide explains how an already configured app may reveal it. Support cannot retrieve the code directly.

What It Will Not Fix Automatically

A dedicated IP does not guarantee streaming access. ExpressVPN’s Dedicated IP FAQ notes that shared addresses may work better for streaming. Your account and the platform’s rules still matter.

It also does not move GPS. If the IP check looks right but a website still shows another place, use our wrong VPN location checklist to separate device location, stored sessions, and account settings.

Nor should “static” be read as a lifetime ownership promise. The provider documents inactivity limits and rare infrastructure-related address changes. If permanent allowlisting is essential, agree on a recovery procedure with the administrator.

Renewal and Refund Checks

The headline monthly average describes the introductory term. Review the later renewal amount and billing interval before paying; the two-year introductory offer renews annually. ExpressVPN explains the process in its renewal guide and subscription overview.

The 30-day refund policy is for eligible first-time users, subject to the applicable purchase and promotion terms. ExpressVPN’s terms exclude renewal purchases from that guarantee. Check the dedicated-IP entitlement and refund eligibility for the exact order.

Two Buyers, Two Different Answers

Imagine a freelance designer whose client requires an approved public IP for its administration dashboard. The client confirms that a dedicated VPN address in the chosen location is acceptable. That designer has a concrete reason to compare Pro with a cheaper tier plus the add-on: the stable address supports an actual working arrangement.

Now imagine someone who browses, watches videos, and occasionally gets a CAPTCHA. They have no allowlisting requirement and would not otherwise use the extra Pro tools. Buying the highest tier in the hope that every interruption disappears is a much weaker proposition.

Before choosing, write down the service that needs the address, the administrator’s requirements, your required location and devices, and the complete price of both options. Then consider how often that task occurs. A feature used every workday can justify a different budget from one you might try twice.

This little exercise helps separate a useful purchase from a feature that simply sounds reassuring at checkout.

FAQ

Is Pro worth it just for Dedicated IP?

Possibly, if you need a stable approved address. Compare Pro with the actual lower-tier-plus-add-on price. Without that add-on quote, there is no honest price winner.

Will it stop every CAPTCHA?

No. A stable address may help with some verification friction, but the website controls its checks. Treat fewer interruptions as a possible benefit.

Should everyone use a dedicated address all the time?

Choose it for tasks that benefit from consistency. For general browsing without an address requirement, a shared connection may suit your priorities better.

Can I get the advertised offer today?

The prices in this article are announced for November 25–December 2, 2026. Before November 25, check the offer page for current terms; do not assume these future campaign prices already apply.

Start with the service you need to access, confirm that a dedicated address solves its requirement, then compare the complete order totals. That is a better reason to buy Pro than a longer feature list.
