Proton VPN Black Friday 2026 is scheduled to begin on October 26, with 75% off the 24-month VPN Plus plan. That is the offer announced in Proton’s partner campaign materials. As of October 23, it has not started: Proton’s public deals page still shows a different, 70% offer.
VPN Plus is worth a look if you want Proton’s paid VPN features without buying a broader email and cloud-storage subscription. Before committing to two years, check which features you will use and how much the full term will cost.

Proton describes this as its lowest price of the year. That is the provider’s claim; I have not independently tracked every price offered in 2026.
The 75% saving is measured against the standard monthly rate. It is not an extra discount on an existing two-year offer, and it does not tell you the final price in your currency.
For reference, the public offer checked on October 23 displayed a US-dollar price of $2.99 per month, billed as $71.76 for the first 24 months. Those figures belong to the existing 70% offer. The forthcoming Black Friday price still needs confirmation after launch.

What makes VPN Plus worth considering?
For me, the strongest reason to shortlist Proton is the visibility it gives you into its privacy claims. Proton publishes its VPN apps’ source code and makes its external no-logs audit reports available to read. Its 2026 audit announcement reports a fifth consecutive annual assessment. An audit has a defined scope, but the published reports let you examine the evidence behind the claim.
Everyday convenience across your devices
VPN Plus supports up to 10 simultaneous connections and provides access to Proton’s paid server network, streaming support and P2P support. Proton Free has unlimited data, but is limited to one simultaneous connection and a smaller selection of locations. The official plan comparison is useful if you are deciding whether the upgrade solves a problem you actually have.
A laptop, phone and television can quickly make that extra connection allowance useful. Still, count your own devices before choosing a subscription. A discount is less persuasive if the free service already covers everything you need.
Two privacy tools with different jobs
NetShield filters requests to domains associated with ads, trackers and malware. It is a useful addition to the VPN connection, particularly if you want less tracking across everyday browsing. Domain filtering does not replace software that scans files on your device.
Secure Core serves a different purpose. It routes traffic through Proton-controlled infrastructure in a privacy-focused location before the exit server, adding protection against certain risks involving that exit server. It is a feature to understand if privacy is your main reason for buying.
For a broader look at the service, read my Proton VPN review. My guide to Secure Core explains when the extra routing is useful, while the Proton plan comparison covers the broader choices. Those guides provide background; use this campaign page and the current checkout for promotional prices.
Choose VPN Plus for the VPN; price the wider bundle separately
VPN Plus does not include the paid versions of every Proton product. Proton Unlimited bundles the premium VPN with paid email, password-manager and cloud-storage features. That can be convenient, but it is a separate buying decision.
The partner announcement lists 50% off a 12-month Unlimited plan, alongside 60% off 12-month Mail Plus, Drive Plus and Pass Plus plans. The different subscription lengths make the percentages hard to compare. List the services you would otherwise pay for, then compare the full charges and renewal prices. If you only want the VPN, adding a bundle to obtain more features can simply mean paying for things you will not use.
Three checks before paying for two years
- Read the total charged today. A monthly equivalent spreads the price across the subscription period; it does not make a two-year plan a monthly payment arrangement. Check the selected currency and whether the displayed total includes any applicable tax.
- Read the renewal line separately. The introductory discount does not guarantee the same rate later. The offer visible on October 23 renews at $83.88 every 12 months, but that is not confirmation of the forthcoming promotion’s renewal terms.
- Keep the refund deadline in mind. Under Proton’s terms, both cancellation and a refund request must be made within 30 days of the initial purchase. Cash and bank-transfer payments are excluded, and the refund option is available once per user.
Cancellation and a refund are separate actions. Proton’s VPN cancellation guide says that stopping renewal leaves the paid VPN available until the current billing period ends. If you want your money back within the eligible window, you must also request the refund.
I would wait until October 26 and check that the 75% promotion has appeared. Then compare the full two-year cost and renewal terms. If Proton’s privacy approach and paid features fit your needs, that is the point to decide.
